Professor of Theatre
Eric Barr is a professor, actor, director, and writer. He received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees from Wayne State University, where he was an acting and directing fellow in the Hilberry Repertory Theatre. He also studied movement, mime, and masks at L'Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France. He taught acting and movement for actors at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting in Los Angeles and worked with the National Theatre of the Deaf. He has directed over 75 productions in university and professional theatres, and is the former artistic director of the Porthouse Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. He writes plays and screenplays and has just completed a book on acting.
