    Biography

    Professor Dymski's fields of interest are Money and Banking, Political Economy, Urban Economics, and Macroeconomics. His current research projects are: (1) Ethnic banking in Los Angeles- Ongoing multi-disciplinary research on the 50+ ethnic banks in Los Angeles, focusing on these banks’ comparative histories and their impact on communities. 1997 to present. (2) global bank mergers and financial-market evolution. Ongoing research, 1998 to present, focusing on institutional strategies, national power, and social consequences. (3) Credit-market discrimination - Ongoing research on various dimensions of racial inequality in the credit market. (4) Housing policy, housing affordability, urban sprawl, and financial evolution. Ongoing research, 1998 to present. (5) Poverty and economic development in lower-income areas, in the U.S. and in the developing world. 1998 to present.
